GUISELEY 1st Team VERSUS
Green Lane (Home) - Cup R3
|
|
29th June 2003 |
|
|
|
Green Lane arrived at Guiseley at the bottom of the league and
looking to roll over a bouyant Guiseley side having outplayed
Hall Park the previous day.
|
|
| Green Lane won the toss and batted first
scoring a credible 202 on a tough Guiseley wicket. N
Gonsalrale scored 30 opening the batting but ex Guiseley boy
Craig Chaplin was the hero of the innings scoring 50 supported
by S Hargreaves (41) as Guiseley let Green Lane off the hook. |
|
| Marcus Brown bowled very well taking 1-23 off
his nine overs and Andrew Paley provided excellent support and
took 3-30. |
| |
| In reply Guisleey got themselves into a spot of
trouble as they lost their first three wickets with just 82 on
the board. Mark Ross (62) and Ian Chaplin (70)set about resurrecting
the Guiseley innings but things looked ominous when Ross
departed with the score on 110. Chris Wain then stepped in to
play second fiddle to Chaplin as Guiseley eased into a winning
position. |
| |
| It was left to Chaplin to strike the winning
runs as Guiseley made it into their fifth Semi-Final in a row,
where they will face Tong Park who narrowly defeated Rawdon. |
