GUISELEY 1st Team VERSUS
Hall Park (Away) - League
|
|
28th June 2003 |
|
|
|
After a run of poor games, Guiseley were looking to get their
campaign back on track at Hall Park, the team they beat in last
years Waddilove cup final.
|
|
| Guiseley got off to a bad start losing Mark
Ross (15) with 29 on the board. Chris Underwood (114) and
Greame Wolfenden then put on 103 runs before Wolfenden
departed with the score on 132. Underwood then put on 101 runs
for the third wicket with Howard Reeve (40) before Reeve was
out with the score on 233 with 8 overs left. |
|
| Underwood marshaled the tail to post a useful
295 for Hall park to chase. Craig Hobson was the pick of the
bowlers with 4-84 and Michael Elliott 3-83. |
| |
| In reply Hall Park were restricted early on by
some accurate bowling from Andrew Paley (2-34) and Marcus
Brown (0-23) and fell to 62-2 with 14 overs left. Michael
Elliott stood firm to score a valuable 63 not out as Hall Park
posted 153-3 off their 50 overs and thus taking a point off
Guiseley. |
| |
| 5 points for Guiseley and a chance of
challenging for league honours although Bilton and Menston
will take some catching! |
