GUISELEY 1st Team VERSUS
Steeton (Away) - League
|
|
2nd August 2003 |
|
|
|
A much depleted Guiseley visited bottom club Steeton looking to
get something from the game.
|
|
|
A Put into bat on a fairly overcast day the
Guiseley batsmen struggled to cope with the pace of Andrew Dolby
(6-84). After skipper Mark Ross (14) had departed with the score
on 26 to a vicious off-cutter from Dolby that clipped off-stump
Guiseley slumped to 71 for 6 with only Wolfie ( 25 ) really
making a start.
|
|
| Guiseley were looking like being shot out for
less than a 100 when Steve Dickinson (41) and Sean Yeates (9) put on
31 with Dicko smashing the ball all over (and almost being
smashed by the ball!!). |
| . |
| The tail wagged briefly with Marcus Brown using
his trademark extra cover drive to full effect (16 not out) as
Guiseley reached an unlikely total of 156 all out in 44 overs. |
| |
| After a fantastic tea, Guiseley got an early
breakthrough with Pales removing the opening bat when the
score was on 2 however a solid innings from Greenwood ( 80
) and a swift 29 not out from G Boulton saw Steeton home
with plenty of overs to spare. |
| |
| Finishing early always means that you get pi**ed
quicker! |
| |
| This game was one to forget about and move on. |
