GUISELEY 1st Team VERSUS
ADEL (Home) - League
22nd June 2002 |
The 2nd XI maintained its title challenge with an emphatic 90 run defeat of fellow title contenders Adel at
Nethermoor.
| Losing the toss yet again Guiseley batted first on a wicket that played well and provided little assistance for the Adel openers as Wolfenden and Chaplin punished any loose deliveries gaining maximum reward on a quick outfield. They put on 53 for the first wicket setting the ideal platform and aggressive knocks from David Ross with 20, Ian Colquhoun 32 and Steve Dickinson 37 took Guiseley to 186 although a clatter of quick wickets at the end left them short of their target of over 200. |
| The score proved to be more than competitive however as the opening burst from Threapleton and Brown quickly reduced Adel to 36 for 6 and two wickets apiece for Colquhoun and Dickinson wrapped up the innings for 76. |
| |
| Richard Mumford completed an excellent game for Adel with 35 runs to add to his 5 for 30 bowling. |
