GUISELEY 1st Team VERSUS
FOLIFOOT (Home) - League
15th June 2002 |
The 2nd XI maintained their excellent League form with a 5 point winning draw at home to Follifoot. Nick Fraser lost the toss
yet again and was put in on a wicket that had been waterlogged 48 hours before. However, Graeme Wolfenden continued his magnificent personal form with an
outstanding 104 (his second of the season) which included him scoring all of the first 32 runs.
| His opening partner Craig Chaplin joined in the fun after drinks to score a patient 45 and the two added 132 for the first wicket. A brief flurry from Sean Yeates at the end of the innings
which included a huge six into Silver Cross brought the total up to 173 for the loss of 4 wickets. |
| |
| This was always going to prove to be a more than competitive total and so it proved as Marcus Brown and Adrian Threaplton once again did the early damage conceding only 40 runs in the first 20
overs. The track got easier as the day went on and a solid 32 from Simon Clarke together with some stubborn batting from Emerson Mayes secured a point for Follifoot as they finished on 80 for 8. |
| Ian Colquhoun finished with 3 for 10 in 12 overs and included a remarkable 9 maidens the last of which were
consecutive, while Adrian Threapleton finished with 3-19 and
Marcus Brown 1-15 off 11 overs. |
