The 2nd XI maintained their winning sequence with a dramatic win by 24 runs over near neighbours Otley at Nethermoor. Overnight rain did not delay the start but produced a damp outfield and slow wicket.

| Having been asked to bat Guiseley made steady start with Richard Whitaker and Sean Yeates adding 35 for the first wicket but the rest of the team struggled against some tight bowling from Mike Daly and Keith
Pullan. Only an inspired 57 from Ian Colquhoun gave the scoreboard some respectability finishing at 138 although the last 4 wickets fell for no runs. Mike Daly finished with figures of 7 for 60, including the last 3 wickets in a hat-trick, and Keith Pullan 3 for 68. |

| Whilst not a large score it was always going to be competitive and so it proved against the outstanding opening attack of Adrian Threapleton and Marcus Brown. Otley were quickly reduced to 9 for 6 and bizarrely the last 10 wickets in the game had then fallen for the addition of only 9 runs. |

| Jonty Maston, in his comeback season, and James North then added an excellent 60 runs for the 7th wicket but this surreal game changed again in the course of one over when Adam perring took 3 wickets to reduce Otley to 70 for 9. Some late hitting by Maston and some stubborn defence from Keith Pullan put on 49 for the last wicket until Sean Yeates caught Pullan and short cover and a dramatic victory had been sealed by 24 runs. |
