| Guiseley went into this game minus Adrian
Threapleton but still looking for 6 points to keep the
pressure on Bilton at the top of the league. |
| |
| Guiseley got off to a reasonable start with
Craig Chaplin (58) and Graeme Wolfenden (18) putting on 44 for
the first wicket before David Ross (54) and Chaplin put on 90
for the third partnership. Guiseley's biggest problem this
year has been the middle order and once again this did not
fire as Guiseley lost 5 wickets for 36 runs. |
|
| Adam Perring provided some impetus at the end
smashing 19 off 14 balls but J Hill 16-23-3 bowled very
tightly and Guiseley were restricted to 195 for 8. |
|
| During the tea interval a thunderstorm delayed
the start of Rawdon's innings and 6 overs were lost meaning
that Rawdon required 195 from 44 overs. Rawdon got off to a
poor start losing an early wicket |
| and seemed to then go for a dull one point
draw, with little scoring in the first 15 overs before Bell
was plumb LBW to Marcus Brown. This brought Gary Walker to the
wicket who (to his credit) had decided to go for victory
smashing 26 off 33 balls and with Alan hall put Guiseley to
the sword up to the drinks break with victory a distinct
possibility. |
| |
| Straight after the break Brown had hall caught
at slip (David Ross) and then clean bowled Walker to
reduce Rawdon to 87 for 5. Wickets fell at regular intervals
but with just 5 balls to spare Adam Perring trapped the Rawdon
skipper LBW and Guiseley wrapped up a nervy 6 points. |
