GUISELEY 3rd Team VERSUS
Alwoodley (Away) - League & Cup
16th June 2002 |
Guiseley beat Alwoodley in this league and cup match with both
sides struggling on a tricky surface at Alwoodley.
| Guiseley had on paper a weakened side with 7
under 15 players in the side but it was Duncan Archibald (52)
and Lincoln Wray (16 not out) who guided Guiseley to 124. The
only other player to make it into double figures was under 13
player Adam Waite. Alwoodley bowled well to restrict Guiseley
with M Walker (3-41) and B Mylon (3-34) the pick of the
bowlers. |
| Guiseley in response to the small target bowled
superbly well and restricted Alwoodley to 78 all out with
extras accounting for the top score of 28! Lincoln Wray and
Ricky Harrison were the pick of the bowlers with 4-9 off 8
overs for Wray and 1-9 off 8 for Harrison, even skipper Phil
Thomas got in on the act taking 2-21 and L Saddler 2-21. |
| On this evidence Guiseley have a real
chance of progressing in the cup as well as finishing in a
respectable league position. |
