Guiseley lost this high scoring encounter
in which 432 runs were scored to Horsforth by 50 runs.

| Horsforth got off to a reasonable start but
were pegged back to 63 for 2 before a stand of 173 between J
Milner who scored 132 before being stumped (Goodbold) off the
bowling of Dave Thatcher and A Robinson who scored 51 pushed
the score onto 241 for 4. J Milners 132 came off 133 balls
while the 173 partnership came of 26 overs resulting in a long
afternoon for the Guiseley bowlers although Bill Thatcher,
Lincoln Wray and David Thatcher all took one wicket each. |

| In reply Guiseley got off to a good start with
an opening partnership of 45 with Stuart Goodbold scoring 28
before Guiseley slumped to 78 for 4. |

| David Thatcher then attempted to inject a
little life in the run chase with a brisk 29 off 21 balls
before being caught in the deep off the bowling of Lewis. Andy
Swallow (28) then tried to steady the ship creating
partnerships with Davies and Harrison before he was bowled
leaving Harrison and Bill Thatcher to bat out the last few
overs for a draw. Ricky Harrison was the last man out for 18
leaving Guiseley 50 runs short. The pick of the Horsforth
bowlers were J Hinchcliffe 4-44 and K Lewis 3-32. |
