GUISELEY 3rd Team VERSUS
Horsforth (Away) - League
5th May 2002 |
Guiseley lost this high scoring match at Horsforth on a hot
afternoon where they were made to toil in the field by some
solid Horsforth batting.
| Guiseley had got off to a good start with Bill
Thatcher and Lincoln wray reducing Horsforth to 50 for 2 but
the joy was short lived as Milner (132) and Robinson (51) put
the Guiseley attack to the sword. They put on 176 runs in 32
overs before both holing out in the closing stages to take the
Horsforth score to 241. |
| In reply Guiseley got off to a good start with
Stuart Goodbold (28) and Duncan Archibold putting on 40 for
the first wicket before both losing their wickets. Guiseley
were then reduced to 70 for 5 and staring defeat in the face
until Andy Swallow (28) and a cameo innings from David
Thatcher (29) brought some respectability to the score line. |
| With wickets falling at both ends and no
significant partnerships built Guiseley were left some 50 runs
short leaving Horsforth deserved winners. |
