GUISELEY 3rd Team VERSUS
Kirkstall (Home) - League & Cup
|
|
12th May 2002 |
|
|
|
Guiseley were thoroughly outplayed by a very strong Kirkstall
team losing by 131 runs their second loss in as many weeks.
|
|
| Guiseley got off to a good start removing
both openers with only 45 runs on the board and then reducing
Kirkstall to 77 for 4 with Ricky Harrison (3-41) and Lincoln
Wray (3-23) bowling their full quota of 10 overs. A fifth
wicket partnership of 63 chiefly down to S Robins 65 allowed
Kirkstall to post a score of 206 although extras accounted for
33 of these runs. |
|
| In reply, Guiseley got off to a speedy start
with Dave Thatcher plundering 9 runs off three balls before he
was dismissed and Duncan Archibald soon followed. Guiseley
never got going against the superb bowling by R Graves (7-29)
and J Thorpe (2-17) and were reduced to 28 for four.A brief
flurry from captain Phil Thomas brought some respectability to
the score before he to was dismissed by Graves. |
|
| Once again the tail failed to 'wag' and captain
Phil Thomas will be looking for an improved performance from
the team when they visit Colton next week. |
