GUISELEY 1st Team VERSUS
BURLEY (Home) - League
27th JULY 2002 |
. A very bad day at the office! Losing a vital match against fellow strugglers Burley who scored at nearly five runs per over against some very indifferent bowling to post a match winning score of
244. David Pike scoring 71 and David Brook 50 as they put the
Guiseley bowlers to the sword.
| Chris Thompson was Guiseley's best bowler
taking 3 wickets from 7 overs at the cost of 35 runs while
Neil Allitt claimed 2 wickets off his 11 overs going for 55
runs. |
| Guiseley faired little better with the bat being rolled over for a paltry 119, with the only batters able to take some sort of credit being Craig
Chaplin (43) and Chris Thompson (40). Burley's Richard
Harrison (5 wickets) and Nick Brook (4 wickets) were
Guiseley's chief destroyers. |
| |
| An immediate improvement is required to ensure relegation does not become a
reallity. |
